Privacy

Progress Tab is a browser extension that replaces your new-tab page with one verified, sourced fact a day. We built it to respect your attention and your privacy. There are no accounts, no logins, and no advertising. This note covers the extension and this website.

The extension

Stored only on your device. Your language choice, your guess mode, and your guess history are kept in your browser’s local storage. They never leave your device, and reinstalling the extension clears them.

Anonymous usage we collect. To understand whether the app is useful and to improve it, the extension may send anonymous events to our server. An event contains:

It does not contain your name, your email, the pages you visit, or any content you type. The data is used only in aggregate. You can turn this off any time in the extension’s options (“Anonymous statistics”).

This website

This site uses Google Analytics (GA4) to count visits and understand which pages help. Google Analytics sets cookies and shares aggregate usage data with Google. We also use Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless.

We use analytics only in aggregate — there are no ads, we sell no data, and we do not link this to the extension’s data or to your identity.

Where data lives

Anonymous events are stored in our database (hosted on Vercel/Upstash), kept in aggregate and rotated over time. We do not sell, rent, or share personal data — because we don’t collect it.

Children

Progress Tab is a general-audience reading tool and is not directed at children under 13.
